i got, a problem, with them, i'll give u the example, i have the last episode of buffy - chosen, in "mpg" format, and I find the subtitles in "srt" format, ok, then I use the vobsub, and when i'm going to see the video, i can see it with subtitles perfectly, but when I try to encode it in TMPGENC i can't see them. I also try to change the VFAPI plugin, in the environmental settings, but it neither works , i don't know what to do, then i try, the other program "ffdshow" but it never works, don't know why... and every guide i'd found in internet, all of them explain when the video or the movie, is in "avi" format, i can't find one that explain how to place permanent subtitles in a mpg file...
If someone can explain me it better, which tools i need, and which version of them, and if can explain through msn i would appreciated....

    my msn is: winged_sephiroth_angel@hotmail.com

  3. Open the file with VirtualDub
load the TextSub Filter (you need VobSub installed
    vobsub_vd.vdf file in plugins folder)
load the srt file (check the framerate )
Video Full Procesing Mode -- Audio Direct StreamCopy -
(Install the Handler using AuxSetup File)
Start frame server (Start - name a file.vdr and dont stop)
    Open TmpgEnc
choice VCD od SVCD or the template.
load the vdr file in Video and audio Source
    Start encode.

    i hope this help you.

For DVDs you can open the vob files with DVD2AVI
    save the project like file.d2v
use the VFAPI Reader to change the file.d2v to file_d2v.avi
(this process just take 5 seconds)
open the file_d2v.avi with VirtualDub and
continue with the same steps of mpg example.

ahh you need to ripp the subtitles file with Subrip to create the .srt
    or .sub file.
