I have a JVC GR-DVP7E camera, it's my first and I am newer then a newbie when it comes to doing anything with digital video.
I was looking at some information and the manual of my camera but noticed, according to the JVC website that the GR-DVP7A has an ilink connection, but mine doesn't have it, or at least it isn't mentioned.
Mine has a DV out (and DV in for that matter) connection and a USB connector.
From the manual I figured the USB is used to transfer data from the memory card, but the manual only mentions a link to a TV or VCR for the DV out and unless I read it wrong, it almost indirectly says capturing normal video to anything but the TV isn't possible.
Now I was wondering, to use the DV out on my camera to capture video, would I have to find a cable to hook it up to a video in/DV in on a videocard or video capture card or can I simply take a 4pins-6pins firewire cable to hook it up straight to a firewire connector on my computer.
Sorry for the slightly long post but I wasn't quite sure how to describe the situation/problem.
I hope it makes some sense, any hints/tips are greatly appreciated.

Use a freeware VIDEO CAPTURE program like SCENELYZER

Thanks for your quick reply Dcsos.
It was a bit confusing to the information of a different model of my camera explicitly list the i-link which wasn't mentioned in such a way for mine, and the manual was also rather short.
Good to know it for sure though
