  1. I have a few .avi files that were ripped from a DVD and encoded in DivX. I was wondering if I could burn those .avi files into a VCD. Would it work on a DVD player that plays VCD? Or would it not because the .avi files were encoded by DivX? If it does work, should I burn the files into a VCD or SVCD?

Once you convert the files to (S)VCD, they can play on most DVD players that play CD-Rs. It would be better if you checked your player in the database at left.

  3. There are many encoders that can convert your DivX files into vcd's that can be played in a standalone player. The best advice I can give you at this stage is to read as many guides on the left that you can. (hell, why not read all the links...lol)
