I have a few .avi files that were ripped from a DVD and encoded in DivX. I was wondering if I could burn those .avi files into a VCD. Would it work on a DVD player that plays VCD? Or would it not because the .avi files were encoded by DivX? If it does work, should I burn the files into a VCD or SVCD?

Once you convert the files to (S)VCD, they can play on most DVD players that play CD-Rs. It would be better if you checked your player in the database at left.
Hello. -
There are many encoders that can convert your DivX files into vcd's that can be played in a standalone player. The best advice I can give you at this stage is to read as many guides on the left that you can. (hell, why not read all the links...lol)
