I have struggled with vcd easy and one or two other programs but havent had as much success as I have had with nero 6 at making vcd's. Only thing I want is to be able to add audio to the menu. If nero was the only software you had, how can it be done??? You can only use a picture as the background to the menu, I have a svcd compatable mpg that I want to use, its a still with the audio in it, can I get nero to put this in the segment folder somehow? I see the item0001.mpg that is the background that I have used in the segment folder of the nero window, can this be located on the HDD in a temp file or something and I replace it with the mpg I have made???I know many will say use VCDeasy etc but to me is aint so easy, nero, now that is easy!!![]()

Try this:Win on CD
Win on CD is probably the most powerful CD burning software out there. It's competitors Nero and Easy CD Creator have a hard time especially with version 3.8, that is out now.
This software really supports almost any standard under the sun. With the latest version you can even burn videos at WhiteBook-Standard 2.0 with nearly DVD quality. You can use 99 minutes CDRs, RAW-Mode Copy and it also features the new "Burn-Proof" technology. You can also define menu-structures for interactive video CDs.
It features an integrated Mpeg encoder as well as a multiplexer, which makes it very flexible.
You can put your own digital Dia-show on CD with the new Photo Album Project. You can play them with PCs or DVD player with full DVD resolution. Even background music can be integrated.
ROXIO distributes it here..or should I say used to distribute, as I can't find it excect on sites in europe anymore
found it here

Q: How can I use my the CD player in my car to burn DVDs?
A: You can't
Basically you're asking how to do job A with tool B, and tool B CAN NOT do the job. VCD/CVD/SVCDs do not support 'true menus' like DVD. The menus are in fact just MPEG files (still or motion). You can assign actions to the numberic keypad (0-9), stop, play and << >> buttons.
These has the look/feel of a menu. So to make a menu with audio you would generate an MPEG file as normal (eg. photoshop to make still and wav for audio source -> encode to MPEG). Then use your authoring program to assign the keys.
However, Nero CAN NOT author (C/S)VCDs this way. It can generate it's own menu (with a still background) but it does not allow 'true authoring.' The best tool to author VCDs is VCDImager. VCDImager is a freeware tool and it's commandline based.
Because most people don't like commandline programs there are several GUIs for it. VCDEasy is only one of them, but it's the most popular. Remember you have to make the menu YOURSELF, then author it with VCDEasy.
Photoshop, M$ Paint, etc. + TMPGenc is command choice.
