I just authored a DVD from some home movies which I encoded at a bitrate of 8.5mb/s. The video was a little shaky? Is that bitrate too high for DVD or was it my encoder. I encoded the dv/avi file from the Premiere timeline using Procoder.

the dvd spec allows for video bitrates up to 9,800, with the total (video + audio) not to exceed 10,080 at any time.
however, some people have had problems authoring dvdr with bitrates higher than 8,000.
you might try reencoding at 8,000 and see if that corrects the problem.- housepig

Ok I'll give it a go. It's only a 10 minute file so it will be easy to do again. I usually use Tmpeg so I also wonder if its not an issue with ProCoder.
