  1. I just backed up die another day using DVD FAB, done a 2-disc backup and found on disc two, there are scenes where the directors commentry come in. I thought i can just remove the vob files with these on, however when looking at the vobs they are inbedded with film. Are there ways around this problem? Disc 1 is perfect, and i noticed in the menus it has an option to disable it, however disc 2 doesnt have the menu..

    Any advice appreciated.

    you mean multi-angles

anywayz, on your remote, there should be an "audio" button that allows you to switch between various audio tracks...use it

  3. Hi, I tried changing the audio, but it doesnt work.

I did have to create new IFO's for this, so i dont know whether thats screwed anything up?

  5. I posted an in depth reply here some time ago regarding which Cell ID's you need to remove in order to get around this using tools like DVD2AVI and IFOedit.

That was for the Region 2 title and since you don't say what region / version of the disc you're trying to backup, it might be different for you.

The search function is disabled and Google didn't find my post when I looked for it, but it is there and I've looked it up before - use my username as one of the keywords along with "die another day" and words like IFOedit and CELL ID and I'm sure you'll find it when the search is back up to speed.

  7. Hey garryheather, i tried looking for you post, but unfortunatley i couldnt find it.

Disc one works fine as it has all the menus i can disable the video Commentry scenes, but it seems as if disc 2 has them on by default.

use dvdshrink and do main movie only

    rip in reauthor mode

you with see the main movie title twice

    i.e. title 2 & title 2(angled)

one with angle in parentheses (angle)

don't pick that one. pick the other one

this is showing up in more dvds lately

this use to be a very rare occurence

ifoedit can't strip it out (at least i couldn't strip it out with ifo edit)

they are embedding the commentary in the main movie in the multi angled part instead of having the commentary as a different title which is what they usually do

i just found this on pinnacle's forum by chowskie

Nevermind that, I fix the problem. It turns out IFOEdit v0.95 has a minor cliche, it greys out/diables "the angle to keep" option. I used v0.91 and volla!

  10. When I wamt to listen to the director's commentary, I use the original of course.

I'll try and find my earlier post again a bit later - I can't repeat it off the top of my head because there was a list of something like 25 cell ID numbers, and I have enough trouble remembering my own phone number...

I had the same problem. It would play like normal than the directors comments would cut in. Never found a solution. Just scrapped the dvdr.

  12. It is problems like this that make me leary of even having more than one audio channel on the disk. I'm always afaid that one of them will "get stuck on" and I will not be able to use the remote and switch it. (Fears from the onld dvd2avi, tmpgen days where I really didn't quite have a handle on what I was doing).

I always rip out directors commentaries and foreign languages to eliminate this possibility even if there is space. Call me anal.
