1. My first time using DVD2SVCD, the conversion stopped during the Cinema Craft MPEG2 encoding process. I watched CCE load, open up the file but gave me an error saying ‘control file cannot be saved. Limitation of trial version’. So am I am right to assume that I need to get a full version of CCE?
2. That’s going to be mucho effort or load of money, you guys think it’s worth it? Seeing as how I have a complete TMPGEnc already. On my slow machine it does 2hr MPEG2 VRB-2 in about 14hrs. How much faster is CCE anyway? Oh yea, will CCE even run on a P3-650 with 128mb?
Thanks for looking.
PS. The day after I get a new machine, I will run out a buy a DVD burner and stop this insanity :D

FYI - your machine can handle a dvd burner now.
I believe what you will need to do is change the encoder tab wheere it saysd multipass and all that to cbd. I do not believe the trial will give you the ability to multipass. On a cost note, CCE does have the basic version for like $60 and it gives you, i believe 1-2 passes.
The question of CCE being better in terms of speed and quality are open to debate. Me personally, I like CCE and use 3 (incldes vaf file) on most of my backups. On my 1.2gig, I can do that in about 6 hours on a 100 minute film (useing generic times. I think that that most people will admit that CCE IS much faster than TMPGENC (they'll be at least one person that will say differently I'm sure), but in my opinion, CCE gives you highever quality in a shorter amount of time. But most people are VERYT happy with TMPGENC.
