I may be incorrect, but isn't that the info for the file you are creating and not the source file?

Yeah, I wouldn't call that info reliable at all. I think you're at least half right, Mike. If you select a template that info will be totally different, from my experience.

You can use AVIcodec to find out what kind of video/audio format you have.
