ok heres the problem. I use tmpg and nero express. i convert an avi to mpeg or mpeg2 and cut it in half and send it to nero to be turned into a svcd or vcd. after i have done this the picture is fine but the audio is not in sinc with the lips moving. Usually the lips move and a few seconds after the voice comes. i am also using toolame as a plug in in tmpg but it doesnt help.
Please help it is very frustrating.

I don't have any answers, just more questions...
1. Does the burned disc play out of sync both on a computer and on a settop box?
2. Does the file play in sync before you burn it (convert to .dat)?
I would totally change my workflow path and try again..
Like USE DVDx or DVDtoSVCD this time -
By the way the reason I ask Is i had the same problem, but the COMPUTER played it ok and so was the file fine. I never got to the bottom of it but IT seems my apex 1500 was the culprit, playing this one SVCD out of sync!
It had been CANDY the feature film decrypted and submitted to DVDx
for SVCD conversion and NERO full (SVCD mode)for burn -
yes the file plays fine on my computer before i convert it but not after.Once i have onverted form avi to mpeg the sound is out of time both on computer and dvd player.Im going to try using virtualdub before converting and see if this helps.
