I assume you meant 106 in the above post. What media and software are you using to burn? There are lots of reports of people buring at 4x with the 106 so it's fairly safe to assume it's something wrong with your setup/system and not the burner.

no..more likely problems with the actual 106 itself,or the firmware.
on mine it didnt matter what media i used,it just wouldnt burn any of them.just -R worked,at all speeds.
but im happy sticking with the 105's just now,as i can get the -R media a hell of a lot cheaper than any +R brand, regardless of "sales",or specials.
every disc works,in all my players, whereas the discs ive tried from a friends 106 are just like the old days, anything over about 3gig,just wont stop sticking or skipping.*and thats not a media problem, thats on about 5 different types of media..
strange thing is though that the -R media on there 106's,plays fine, its the +R's that seem to haev the problem. -
I can record at 2x with my DVD-RW and 4x with my DVD-R Verbatim medias. But when I try other brands (like PowerDisc 2x) I can only record at 1x.
I'm using Nero 6 and Pioneer A06 with firmware 1.06.
