  1. Heres my problem, hopefully someone can help

    I have the following:

    AMD 2600
    1024 Ram
    160 GIG HD
    128 GeforceFX with TV out

    This is the problem

I have my computer plugged upto my TV via the AV socket and TV out.

I can see everything on my TV fine and movies play great.
If I also plug my computer into my Video, again everything is great.

I really really really WANT to record these movies onto a VHS but when i press record on my video player it looks like its recording fine but when you go to play it back, you just get a blank screen.

Is there something im missing? I have all the newest drivers for my Grafix card.

If anyone requires further information to help me out, let me know.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

    Vinny

PS Great informative site, keep up the good work

Are you sure you're recording the right channel/input on your VCR?
Just because you aren't paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you!

  3. Yeah, my video has like channel 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, etc but when you press down from channel 1, it says E and then i can see my desktop on my TV screen,

Thats when i press record and you know the rest,

    Thanks for the reply though,

    any ideas?

Could your TV out be MACROVISION AWARE?
What PLAYER SOFTWARE ARE YOU USING..
Short of getting a MACROVISION HACK for The GEFORCE, you could try a freeware player like
    www.videolan.org
for this chore (OUTPUT TO TAPE)

go and install nvidia driver before ver 30.82 this should fix problem where macrovision is enabled

  6. Ive got to be honest,

I DONT HAVE A CLUE what Macrovision is, this is why im in the newbie forum.

Im wanting to play a film (guess he says "I'll be back" and "astalavista baby" the 3rd one) and record to vhs, i thought it would be a simple plug in and go sort of thing, the picture is fine on the tv via the video recorder.

Im using PowerDVD that came with my computer.

If i use another piece of software (suggestions of best ones please) to play my Termy3 would it record on vhs?

  12. As they have said already, thats macrovision copy protection coming on to keep you from copying the videos......

Try dvd region free software search the net for it.

  13. So how do other people get stuff from their PC onto a VHS?

Im confused, is the Macrovision thing built into my Video recorder or my Grafix Card with the tv out?
