hi i was wondering if any of you could tell me if Vdub could take the subs out of the .ifo file from a dvd and put them on the a divx movie. i've tried encoding them on using FlakMPEG but some are missing or dont show for long enuff. please help.

The subs aren't contained in the IFO file. Rather, they are multiplexed in the VOB files.
You can use a proggy called "Subrip" to extract the subtitles for the VOB files. There are a number of guides at doom9's site that explains this much better: http://www.doom9.net

yes, vobsub. You do not need to rip the subs in advance, like you would do with subrip. Just add and configure vobsub. It works with Vdub as well as with Avisynth.
