Ok I've been able to make a beautiful copy of my VHS version of Office Space using my Videoh DVD device and having Sonic MyDVD set at "BETTER" capture quality. The movie is just shy of 90 minutes and that was enough to get all but the credits copied (Macrovision wasn't an issue..Videoh DVD never passed it thru and the movie plays/ looks great on a standalone DVD player)

But what confused me is when I plugged in Empire Strikes Back VHS which is over 2 hours, and set the capture quality to "GOOD" just to test the quality on an RW disc, the MyDVD screen says I have 2 hours and 23 minutes available (when copying direct to DVD not the hard drive). However, 30 seconds after I hit "Capture" the time remaining jumps down to 1 hour and 40 minutes!..I now own a coaster.

Any idea why this happens??

This all leads me to the bigger question I am totally stumped on: Does anyone here using a similar set up have a no nonsense, Joe Six Pack kind of guide to how to copy VHS movies over 90 minutes to ONE DVD?

I've read the lordsmurf(sp) guide and it was WAY out of my league and didn't even use equipment like mine, and I have yet to find a guide that gives a nice "shopping list" of programs and steps involved that could be used to accomplish said copying. Maybe one doesn't exist yet, or I'm blind??

I'm brand new to all this so I'm trying my best to gather info to help me down the road. BTW, I have made several DVD to DVD backups with the greatest of ease thanks 100% to you folks and this site.

Thanks for any input you may have.
