  1. I would like someone to explain how, or preferably point me to a guide which shows me how to join 2 DVD's together keeping menu's extra features and everything else without having to demultiplex the video's.

Joining 2 DVD's while keeping menu's extra features and everything else:

    Software you will need:

    DVDdecrypter
    DVD2One
    Vobedit
    IfoEdit
    Burning Program of your choice

1.Rip 1st disc with DVD Decrypter (all the files) to a folder.
2.Run the 1st disc through DVD2One choosing a total ouput files size of about 2.2 gigs and the "full disk" option.
3.Rip the 2nd disc with DVD Decrypter (all the files) to a separate folder than that of the 1st disc.
4.Run the 2nd disc through DVD2One choosing a total output files size of about 2.2 gigs and the "full disk" option.
5.Now go here http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/joinclip.html#joindbl and follow the instructions carefully on “Joining double sided DVDs”

Disregard steps 1 & 2 regarding IfoEdit and follow these:

1.Once you have ALL the VOBS together and in one single directory (this is where you should be if you followed the above instructions) you should have something similar to the below:

    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB
    VTS_01_4.VOB
    VTS_01_5.VOB
    VTS_01_6.VOB

Notice I have deleted all the IFO and BUP files.

2.Open IfoEdit and click “Create IFOS”. Select the first VOB (VTS_01_1.VOB) in your final folder and click ok.
3.Once complete, in IfoEdit again click “Open” and select the VTS_01_0.IFO file that IfoEdit just created.
4.Now click “Get VTS Sectors” and select “Yes” through all the prompts. It is VERY important that this step be completed.
5.Done authoring. Now burn with your program of choice.

  3. Thanks for all your bother, kpoman, I appreciate it. I'll try it out today. One last thing kpoman, it is not two double sided DVD's that I am trying to join, it is a dual layer and single layer. Does this matter?

@ vance43211, I had originally tried your guide, several times, but what happens is I get all the menu's and everything else, but when I click on a menu item, no matter what it is, it always goes to the same video, so I can only select different videos (even from the same DVD originally) by selecting different titles using my DVD player.

vance 43211, if I am doing something wrong to make this happen whilst using your guide, could you please give me some pointers to correct it.

EDIT:: Sorry, kpoman, I am so stupid I just realised that with the link to joining the double sided DVD I am supposed to act like I am joining a double sided DVD and make the single layer disc the first side, and make the dual layer disc the second side. This is right, isn't it?

Just tried the guide kpoman. The only problem is that I can keep everything APART from the menu's (in IFOEdit it says that there is a menu in the files and that I should delete it and re-run the get VTS Sector function). I don't know what I'm doing wrong, please help me if you can.

    Thanks in advance, pixel.

@vance43211, thanks for that, I guess I will just have to do without menu's, but that isn't too bad as I guess I can just navigate through the titles and chapters of the DVD using my DVD player.

It was just really for something watchable with easy navigation, but I guess there is no easy way, unless I can be bothered demultiplexing all the streams and creating a menu structure as near to the original as possible using DVDMaestro.

  6. pixel, it is possible to do with the menu, but you have to be fluent in IFO edit language, and its really hard to explain the linking of titles to the menu, the addion of chapters and their pointers. If you have the time (And a sh*t load of patients) you could do it with ifoedit.

I am "sort of" fluent in IFOEdit eg. I can make simple DVD's using it.

I would have the patience to try out a guide to keep the menu. If you have a link to a guide that will help me to do it I would really appreciate it.

If you don't and have to type out a whole load of instructions, don't bother, because I wouldn't want to waste your time unless you were very willing to help me.

i don't think you really want too

the effort will not be worth it

i kinda understand how to do it that way

but it is seriously complicated and too long to explain

it's easier to make a dvd with just the menu on it

    Thanks vance43211, I guess I will just merge 2 DVD's together without menu's.

Thanks for everyone's help in this post,
    pixel.
