  1. I got some movies which i have extract from cdi or bin image, and when i tried to play the dat. file i have extracted it doesn't work. With media player is said class not registered and with WinDvd, it has sound but no picture. I pretty sure those files is should work. So is should be something wrong with the player. I tried install mpg 2 codec still doesn't work. Can anyone help

  3. You didn't extract the movie just the DAT file from the bin image. There is actally a slight difference between teh DAT file and the MPEG1 file it was authored from. That's why people use VCDGear and other programs to conert their VCDs back to MPEGs.

    With that said I suspect that you are trying to open the dat file from within WMP. This often doesn't work (esp in winXP). You need to run windows explorer, right click on the dat file, choose open with, then choose WMP.

    Re-naming the file to *.mpg will also work 95%+ of the time

  4. yea but WinDvd suppose to work because the program can player dvd or vcd format right, and dat file is vcd format, but when i play it, there no picture just sound and the sound is not properly too
