I have a problem with converting a NTSC video (29.970 fps) to Pal. I converted the video just fine, frameserving with VirtualDub, and encoding the video with TMPGenc. Then I do the audio with BeSweet, convert it NTSC->Pal, and then multiplex it.
The video is then perfectly in sync, but the audio sounds very slow, like in slow-motion, and the voices are very low. What should I do???

  3. You can use a program such as Cool Edit Pro or Soundforge to do the audio stretching. They have options whereby you can preserve the original pitch of the audio. They're not perfect, but there are various equalisations you can pick (eg speech would be the best for a movie), and they're gonna be better than nothing...

I used Goldwave to do this, I resized the audio to the exact same length as my 25fps converted video. Although it was in perfect sync, it was slow, as described above. 23.976 - 25fps conversions work OK though. Anyone know a work-around?

  5. HEY!

Since you did it using TMPGEnc, you may have not said Do not framerate conversion. Since this is probably the case, just encode using BeSweet without the framerate conversion filter.

Thanks you guys for the replies, but I have just found out that I didn't need to convert it to PAL, because my dvd-player can play both ntsc and pal VCDs. But thanks anyway.

What you probably did was convert from 30 fps to
    25 fps including the audio.

What you should do is IVTC the video to restore it
to 24 fps FILM and change Frame rate to 25.

That will make it play slightly fast instead of extremely slow.

I think it was PAL when the person got it. Since it works like it is, the best thing to do is leave it.
