I recently bought a DV camcorder. I've installed a firewire card which Windows XP can see & says is working OK.
When I try to capture using Ulead Movie Factory 2, I'm getting a message "cannot connect capture driver". I've tried MGI Videowave 5, but that can't see it either.
I've tried different cables & moving the firewire card to a seperate port, but nothings working.
The camera's a JVC GR-DX25
Any ideas?

Have you checked the preferences to see what Ulead is trying to use for capture? It sounds almost like it is trying to use VFW capture drive.... I had to manually change the prefences for my brother in laws machine the other day. He is using VS 5... But I bet it's the same problem..

Thanks for the advice. I've tried the camera on another PC & still no joy, I think there's a problem with the DV Out on the camera itself. I'm going to have to get it replaced.
