  1. ok I spent a solid week trying to back up Sopranos on dvd. I can use Smart Ripper or dvddecryptor to rip each episode. Two episodes are small enough to fit on one dvd, which is fine, I do not want to lose any quality. Ok so now I have two directories, Episode 1 and Episode 2. This is where everyone is having problems. I tried to use dvdLab to import the VOB files and make a little menu. It will work in dvd lab but when I try to export to dvd, it errors out on VOB2, something about not able to read it. I have done this 10 times all teh same error.I tried another way of relabeling teh vob's so they are one long file, then used IFOEdit to make one VIDEO_TS file for it. This worked I think, but its one long Movie, no way to slect movie two. SO hear is the idea, I am a straight newbie, someone needs to modify smart ripper or so two allow selecting of two episodes and exporting to one directory and have teh application build its own ifo that will keep these seperate (the same way that extras have their own ifo files) then use dvdlab or the such to make a menu that allows you to pick 1 or 2. It can't be much harded then this, and there has to be a way similar so you don't have to rip, export to other format then reimport, etc. If thsi has been brought up before then I am sorry, but it aint that hard, I know I am just missing one key peice of info.

I did something similar to this with my Monty Python episodes...wanted to see on how FEW discs I could get the episodes...

    First method:

1 I used DVDShrink (reauthor) to rip only the main titles for each episode

2 used VOBEdit to demux the *.m2v and *.ac3 files

3 import each corresponding m2v and ac3 as "assets" in DVDLab

4 create a "new movie" for each m2v and ac3, and drag each file from "assets" into each new movie

5 create a simple text menu, with "Episode 1", "Episode 2", etc...

6 Compile new DVD with DVDLab

7 use DVDShrink again on the compiled DVD to make it fit onto one DVD-R

Then, I learned that DVDLab will accept VOBs as assets.

    So...I again

1 used DVDShrink to rip only the main titles (again, reauthor)

2 import the resulting VOBs as "assets" in to DVDLab

3 make a "new movie" for each corresponding VOB and drag the VOB to the movie

4 make a simple text menu

    5 Compile

6 use DVDShrink again to make it fit to one DVD-R

I think I was able to take the first three or four discs (of 14 total) and put them onto one disc this way.

I did lose some quality, but that's OK with me, at least for this project.

I had to do it this way, because I haven't found any way to put more than one "title set" on one disc...

    Hope this is helpful
