Hello! I am 100% new to video, so please bear with me for a second. I would like to ask for the steps necessary to burn a VCD starting from an MPEG2 file. I just downloaded and installed ffmpegx, and the extra components. I have QT and its MPEG2 Component as well, and an iBook (G3).

I have the MPEG2 file and I would like to burn a VCD using Toast. Where do I start? In ffmpegx's main screen or directly in the "tools" tab and authoring?

Thank you in advance for the help.

best guess is to demux the mpeg2-file.
then convert the resulting m2v to mpeg1 (m1v).

    the audio must be 224/44.1
if you have different you also must convert the audio to mp2 224/44.1

then muxx the audio and video and your vcd is ready
