  2. TMPGEnc DVD Author (though it still has flaws) has an option where you can create dvds without menus. Incorporate this tip with some guides to your left.

  3. you need to be a little bit more specific...

by creating a DVD w/o menus

do you mean "backing up" a commercial DVD??

are you converting from another format?

you need info on burning/authoring DVDs?

OK, use an MPEG 2 encoder to get a DVD compliant video and audio file. Then use a DVD Authoring program (DVD-lab, TMPG, etc). After importing your DVD files, just put them in "First Play". That way, you dont use a menu and plays automatically when inserted into DVD player.

exactly as DVWannaB says. Make your first movie your "First Play" clip, and then if there's multiple vids for the disc, make them time out into each other squentially as you want them to play

ok, answer this. when avi is encoded what type of mpeg is it being encoded to? MPEG2 or MPEG4?
or if you know where i can read up on this myself that would be helpful too!

  9. MPEG-1 VCD

    MPEG-2 SVCD, DVD

    MPEG Layer III MP3

    MPEG-4 DIVX

    -----------

.avi Divx is MPEG-4....so i don't think you're converting .avi to .avi

i would assume MPEG-2 because you're converting to DVD.
