  2. I get write errors sometimes when trying to convert from avi files. I can usually fix it by running the file thru virtualdub.
Open it in virtualdub. Change the video to direct stream copy and save the file. Don't know why, but it seems to clean up the avi while still keeping the same codec. Takes about a minute depending on the size of the avi

    This works every time:

    1) Reboot
    2) Uninstall TMPG
    3) Reboot
    4) Delete old TMPG folder if still present
    5) Re-install TMPG
    6) Encode....er...Enjoy

Do what Rubberman said. Note, he did NOT say to save as wav. Direct stream both audio and video, then save avi.

  6. Sorry. I should have said save as AVI.
I saw it somewhere once. Can't remember where. I think it was somewhere on this web site.

Don't you guys ever read the forum before you're posting topics ?!!
Go to option in Tmpgenc, go to environmental settings, go to VFapi plugin's
and give directshow the highest priority (number 1) with a right mouseklick on Directshow.

    read before you ask !

  10. This doesn't always work. When this fails I run it through VirtualDub like I mentioned before.
Although, sometimes increasing the directshow priority works where the Virtualdub solution doesn't.
If these don't work you could always try encoding to a different AVI codec.
