  1. i have a 700 meg avi of episode 4 and i have tried to burn it to a dvd but for some reason the audio gets "unsynced" once burned. and not just by a little, but by a lot. the avi playes fine on my machine, but for some reason when burned to a dvd via DVD Architect, it seems to fall apart. what is the best way to get this file to a dvd. i don't want fancy menus and would settle for just chapter points, but just a dvd would be a great start.

i also happen to own Episode IV A New Hope, so this is not a bootleg.

I'm not quite clear on that statment.

It sounds like this is where you converted your AVI to a compliant MPEG2 so you could author it to DVD. This (conversion) may be a trouble area as well as the burning software.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

It's always VBR audio. In vdub, save the audio as a WAV. Then when encoding to MPEG2, use the PCM WAV as your audio source.
