    Dude. I love you.

But we are trying to figure out ways to let the recorders do the work.

  2. next,
I do not have a video recorder but I did place a Pinnacle Moviebox DV between my VCR and my composite inputs for Giga Pocket. Guess what? No Macrovision problems anymore. The DV unit was also 169.95 usd. I do however still like the capture quality of the USB unit better but that might be just Giga Pocket related. ........ harrymj3

  4. next,
Sorry, I got sidetracked trying to help alfer but maybe one of those boxes would work with your recorder. Or maybe a video cam with a pass through might work as a filter. ........... harrymj3

It's sad really, there aren't $20 worth of parts in De-Macrovision devices
It's sad really to read so many people on this board (and others) who complain about the cost of something because the price is more than the cost of the parts. If it's so sad, why don't some of you go into business? Obviously you should be able to get rich selling $20 worth of parts for $200. Unfortunately you'll have to deduct quite a bit from your $180 profit- things like legal fees, advertising, distribution, research and development.

And don't forget the cost of paying the people that work for you building the product- I'm sure none of you are working for free.

I have a Go Video Montage dual vhs vcr.It was built to make copies of Macro protected tapes.I use it with my Sony RDR-GX7 to copy tapes.A matter of interest for some of you,a good percentage of dvds do not have Macrovision! I think MGM titles don't use them. There is a list in one of the forums,of the tested titles.I know the latest "007" title was listed.
I do have several pc dvd "burners" that I use for dvd copies, but my Sony/Go Video combo works great for tape to dvd copies!

Did anyone know most XXX Rated movies don't seem to have this macrovision I wonder if it's because it cost too much or maybe some don't care if you copy it. With DVD and soon HD Recorders on the rise are these xxx studios going to start adding it? hmm Well it seem's odd my Avion AV-DVR100 will copy them no problem but i did run across one so far that my recorder wouldn't copy. And does anyone know if the Clarifier XS does te newer protections or just the old stuff?
