Ok- just bought the Pioneer A06 and installed the software that came with it- It came with nero express- my problem is that there dosen't seem to be any option to burn Dvd's on it. It has an option to do VCD's and SVCD's under audio and video in it's menu- but no dvd option. And when I try to load a dvd file into the menu as a data file it shows I am way over in size- so its assuming that I am using a CDR disc. If I can't burn DVD's with nero express, why do they bother even packaging it with the burner?. I have other burning software, but none of them recognise the Pioneer drive, so do I have to get another program to do the job, or is it hiding away in a sub-menu.

    Any help would be appreciated.

That is the only program I use to burn DVD's with. At the top of the main menu, it should ask you WHICH RECORDER WOULD YOU LIKE TO USE. Click the down arrow and choose your DVD burner. Then choose to burn a DVD Video and highlight everything that you would like to burn and click ADD and burn your DVD.

    GOOD LUCK,

Well thanks to rick, I got the program working!. I burned the movie on to a dvd-rw, stuck it into the dvd player, and WOW. The Thing works like a dream, even with the compression level set up to seven with dvdshrink. My first dvd- I'm really happy!

  6. Thank you for the info. Nero Express was included when I bought my TDK DVD+R burner and I was a little upset when I didn't see the option to burn a DVD.

Nero Express and Nero are pretty smart programs. If you tell it you are going to be using a CD burner, it won't present you with the option of burning a DVD.
It always pays to be smarter than the equipment you're trying to operate.
