I have recorded numerous programs and the audio is perfect when I record and even after I edit out the commercials, it is still in sync, but once I play it on my dvd player, eventually, it starts to look like a bad kung fu movie. I am wondering if it is the software, media, or hardware which is causing my problem.
System
Win 98SE
AMD 1.2
512 SDRAM
40 GB hard drive(10GB free)
Powervcr II 3.0 (Advanced profile vcd ntsc)
APEX 2500 dvd player.
TIA

What editing software do you use? Sounds more likely to be a software issue than a hardware one

To me it sounds like hardware. Does it play all the way through on your PC? If so it's your DVD player, or it could be the media doesn't work well with that particular player. Apex players IMO are poor. I had one that would freeze up right in the middle of a movie all the time! I hated that thing.

To answer Sugar, I use PowerVCR to edit also. To Thayne, it plays all the way through on the computer. I make sure to check it. Now, if I run it tmpgenc, it seems to work. Just will have to run more tests.

Have you tried changing your media ?, burning speed ?. Do you get the same results on a different dvd player ?.
