    hi,

    i have a .avi file with foreign subtitles.

    is there a program that will remove them?

    I do not think you can remove them. If you can not turn them off when watching them then I think no you can not.

    I recently got a pal dvd for a gift. It has german language with german subtiles (removable) and the other audio track is english with german subtitles (embedded) I can't remove them while watching the dvd. Is there anyway to back this dvd up and remove the german subtitles while keeping the english soundtrack? Is it possible? Thanks!

    DVDshrink should let you take out the subtitles (subpicture) independently from the audio tracks
