  1. hello all,
i've recently just started using virtualdub to cut my movie files (mostly in avi format) into 2 separate files for easy burning and i've found out that the files turn out to not have any audio.

At the starting there is sound, but it goes off after a while and doesnt come back on at all.

i'm not sure if it has anything to do with my settings at all cos im new to this program so can anybody out there help me?

    thanks alot!

I had this exact problem with my old 433 machine. I never found out why. BUT, I think I used TMPG to save out the wav or something first. Does the file have any audio when you play it with WMP?

so does that mean if i use TMPG it would work?
no when i play it in windows media player, there is sound for prob abt 10 mins of the movie? then there isnt anymore sound. and its the same no matter which player i use, be it divx or win media player, theres still no sound. even when i've burnt it into a cd.

does anybody know how i can solve this problem?

I would use TMPG and go to an area that (seems) to have no audio. Save out a small hunk of wav file and see if there is any audio. If there is, save the whole wav out. If there isn't any audio, you're pretty much screwed.

Look under "file" and "output to file" (something like that). wav is under there.
