Strange ! I've just started getting this as well, TMPGenc worked fine on saturday. Loaded it up yesterday and then loads of problems.
Whats odd is I havn't installed / removed anything, its the latest version which I've been playing with for a while, so it makes no sense.

I've tried the same as you, ie uninstalling, reinstalling etc.
It doesn't matter what I try to do, I just keep getting the same error !

  4. What files are causing the error, are they new ?, have your tried it with a file that you have converted in the past, do you still get the error messages ?

    Nope, no new files !
It loads ok, then as soon as you open a requester to load a file it gives the error message, then repeatedly throws it up whenever you try to do anything !
I'll have a play again tonight when I'm home from work to see if I can get to the bottom of it.....

  9. if you are using windows xp, you can use "System Restore"
and roll back your computer to date where everything worked.
just make sure to create a restore point of today, so you can allways roll back to what you have now.

  10. I started getting this error message also but now (i'm in xp) i don't even get that, tmpgenc just disapears when i try to do anything at all inside the program. I feel that it is the ntdll.dll this started happening after a microsoft update, I downloaded the updates restarted my computer and bam, tmpgenc stopped working lets all sue microsoft.

I had this yesterday after trying to convert an XVid, I thought it was because I uninstalled MainConcept. I tried everything, system restore, reinstalling MainConcept, even considered XP SP1a (because of the ntdll.dll file) but in the end I fixed it by increasing the priority of the 'DirectShow Multimedia File Reader' to higher than everything else. Restart windows and et volia!

    Good luck

Sigh, no one searched? This will be the 7th time i've typed this.

    1) Reboot
    2) Uninstall TMPG
    3) Reboot
    4) Delete TMPG folder
    5) Re-install TMPG
    6) Reboot
    7) Enjoy

This happens periodically, but a fresh install generally fixes it. As to the problem? Who knows, but for it to 'suddenly start' you have to had to do 'something'. Patch, virus update something. Generally it's installing some software.

I'll tell you this: ntdll.dll is not unique to TMPG, it's alive and well in other applications, and it's not remotely related to encoding video either! Welcome to the proverbial 'DLL HELL'.

I have the same problem. I think it has nothing to do with the program cause it only happens to certain files. I think its a codec issue. We dont have all codec for certain movies. Tell me what u think about that
