I used DVD Shrink 2.3 to rip a movie, and now I've got the vob files for it. The audio is ac3 and I usually use MovieFactory2 (because of the ease of making menus, haven't found anything better for that) but it won't accept it. I reeaally don't want to convert out of ac3. Is there a workaround I can use or perhaps another program that'll accept the vob files and let me go in and create a decent looking menu for them? Might be newbie-ish, not sure. If there is already a thread for something similar to this, I appologize.

Ulead DVD Workshop does, but it's not cheap. Do you need menu's? why not just burn the files DVDshrink gives you?

If I can get decent menus then I'd much prefer to have them. I was looking through things on Workshop but I didn't see how you'd insert VOB files into it. Is there a guide or something?

I've never done this, but I think all you do is click on the add video button and browse to the vob file set. IF that doesn't work you may have to convert the vobs to and mpeg file. I'm pretty sure it will accept the vob's though...

The best (and cheapest) DVD authoring program will accept those AC3s just fine.
DVDLab -- there's a fully functioning 30 day free trial, and I'm betting you'll never use anything else after you've tried it."Like a knife, he cuts through life, like every day's his last" -- Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang -
Hi, I'm pretty sure I read in the forums that you CAN import AC3 into MF2 (even though it complains). I believe if you set it to not reencode compiant mpeg2 files it will accept AC3.
Hope this helps.

I could suggest to use TMPGEnc DVD Author. It accepts mpeg, mpv and vobs files and you can create fairly decent menus. Its not top notch menus but it works pretty fine. It does accept AC3 audio. BTW it is very simple to use.

Another vote for DVDLab. It's only a little more expensive than the TMPGEnc authoring app but massively better.
