    I have not seen this topic covered, is there a way to convert a VOB file back to MPG?

    The file is in a disk that I made, but I got rid of the original MPG file. It is a small file so I do not want to waste a whole DVD with it.

    Just think of every DVD Backup guide out there, which creates a VCD out of the VOB file, or in your case you want MPG, so just use ReMPEG2 or split the VOB to MPEG2 and AC3 using any demuplexing tool.
