I love the 80s New Wave music, but I also love the Rock, Punk, Metal music of the 80s. Gary Numan, Duran Duran, REM, Taco, Madness, Falco, A HA, Tommy Tutone, Hewy Lewis & The News, Adam Ant, The Vapours, M, Oingo Boingo, Men Without Hats, New Order, Simple Minds. Everyone of these bands in on the top played tracks on my mp3 player. It's just great music. I was born in 1983, so I hardly remember much of the 80s, but I wish I had experienced more of it.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Everyone has a different view of what cool is. Everyone is cool in their own little way.

  8. I'm going to generalize here but to me most people who are considered really "cool" are losers in my mind. Aside from the people who have money i.e. rock stars, Pro athletes, rich kids, it is hard to be cool and successful.

To me cool people party, are fun to be around, are very socialable, probably smoke or are very athletic etc.

To be successful, for the most part, you need to be fairly smart about what you do. Probably have more education, either formal or nonformal, make better decisions, spend more time on the job, etc.

In my neighborhood the houses are big, all families live there, kids have manners, etc. I can't think of one "cool" person. I guess I'm the coolest of the uncool.

This will probably piss someone off but then you must not be my kind of cool. :P

    FoolishBrett,

Very articulately written and well said.

Why do you call yourself ‘foolish’? I consider you cool.
