Hi,

I'm pretty new to all this, but I thought I should share my findings with you all, as it's through this forum that I've managed to solve the problem of the audio dropping out of line with the video when authoring with Ulead DVD Workshop. I found out how to do this with the help of DVDMizer's post here : https://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/t161658.html but altered some of the settings as DVDMizer's guide still gave me lip sync issues.
This lip sync issue has been a real bane for me, but using the method below, my problems are gone! I hope this info may help some more of you! (I am using DVDws v1.3)

DOWNLOAD:
========
The part I want to mention is the SVCD2MPGDVD section.
Assuming you've got your MPG files all ready, download and install SVCD2DVDPMG v1.1. (this also requires that you have .NET installed so get ready for the large Windows Update!!!)

WORK BIT: SVCD2DVDMPG
===================
Put all of your MPG files into one directory and launch SVCD2DVDMPG. Select your working directory as the one with the MPG's in it. Select either SVCD or VCD (I've only tried VCD). Select MPG>ES on the 'In/Out' section, and choose NONE on the 'Horizontal Rez patch value'. Now click start. SVCD2DVDMPG will now work it's magic and when it's finished (may take a while) you will have the original MPG file, a MPV file and a MPA file. This has split the audio and video into 2 seperate files. You no longer require the MPG file.

WORK BIT: Ulead DVD Workshop
======================
When adding your video file into DVDws, select the newly created MPV file instead of the MPG file. Now replace the audio with the newly created MPA file. When you've added all the files and replaced the audio for each, go to the finish tab.

ENCODE:
=======
Choose 'Make Disc' and select 'Customize'. Leave the Frame Size as the default of 720x576 and click the 'Compression' tab. Set the 'Video Data Rate' to 'Constant' and '8264'. Leave the Audio at the default(MPEG audio and 384kbps) and click ok.
On the final Make Disk page, select the directory where you want to store the final project and make sure the 'Do Not Convert Complient File' box is ticked. Click Start.
When finished, burn the files to disc with Nero.

This works an absolute treat with me and is a good workaround to Ulead's crappy sound/video authoring issue. I wish you all the best following these instructions.
If this works for you too, please consider making a donation to the creator of SVCD2DVDMPG as it is a great little tool which has solved all my problems!

Kind Regards,
