I was using a trial copy of the Elecard player to view some MPEG2's, and now that my trial period is over, there are some annoying reminders to register the product, such as dancing distractions and scrolling messages. However, I uninstalled the player, hoping to from now on view the files in windows media player, which had always provided the same-quality playback, yet for some reason it gave me the same distractions and reminders for elecard. I am wondering if elecard altered my MPEG2's, or if when i uninstalled it i missed something, because i cant get rid of it. Am I somehow still using the elecard codec without the software, and could it possibly recognize that i am not registered on the elecard website? thanks for any help you can offer.

  2. Unregistering should help (at least helped me). I got Unregister.bat with filters and after running it no more problems. This is simple patch program:

    regsvr32 /u /s mpgdec.ax
    regsvr32 /u /s mpeg2dmx.ax
    regsvr32 /u /s pva_dmx.ax
    regsvr32 /u /s mlcom.ax

    Hope, this helps.
