Why is it that using TMPGEnc you can never get clone quality, i mean there is always a quality loss when you transcode even on the highest settings.
I have heard you can use dvd lab and just drop the vob's into it and skip the transcoding stage. Anyone have any experience with this.
I am trying to get rid of the extras and make EXACT copies of dvd-9 to two dvd-5 dvd-r. Transcoding takes forever, and this computer is fast.

if you set the transcoder for 0% compression, then there shouldn't be any changes.Originally Posted by kbrooks
also, depending on which transcoder you use, it could take forever...some are faster than others....DVDshrink, for example, is considered one of the fastest.

if you use tmpgenc to convert, then yes...the conversion itself will cause quality degradation...but i believe simple transcoders do not.
