  1. Using TMPGEnc, i browse for the video source. I select the video source and when i do so, it says TMPGEnc has encountered an error, and then it closes. I have done this numerous amount of times. Why does this happen?

    -thanks

  2. need more info:

what's the video source? which program was used to create it? what format is it in? what's the filename of your video source?

and what are you trying to do with that video source in tmpgenc?

anywayz, check which formats your player supports here: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

most likely, it will not support .avi files.

    ----------

best bet is to convert to VCD. look here: https://www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc.htm

there's also a whole list of conversion guides here: https://www.videohelp.com/convert

  6. Joshto123,
Do yourself a favor and delete the name of your film before you get reported to a moderator. If you have an avi file which is giving you trouble load it into gspot or avicodec and see what kind of codecs are used and whether or not it has an ac3 audio. Let us know what you find out.

Close the wizard, go to option->environmental settings->vfapi plugin and make DirectShow Multimedia File Reader first or second on the priority list (right click to increase/decrease priority)and see if that helps.

The only way a standalone will play an avi is if it is compatable with divx4 (I think). To make a vcd, you must convert to mpg1. To check what your player can play, go to the dvd player list on the left side of this site and type your player in. If it says it can play cd r,rw then you can burn to vcd's using that media. Good luck.

  9. That's weird because I put that file onto a cd, and i was able to play it on my stand alone dvd player, without converting it to VCD. And I am pretty sure my player does not support .avi. So,what are the other possibilities. Is it possible it was already a VCD?
