I am making a comp of different scenes from different dvd's. My converter that I have takes the VOB files and changes them into either a DVD, VCD, VCDS, of DivX. The did is the best quality by far but when I bring the file into Premiere to edit it, Premiere freezes. It works file if I import a scene that has been converted into a VCD. But I need better quality. any suggestions? are there better editing programs? I want to be able to cut it where ever I want.

you could try something that can cut vob files directly, like Chopper or ChopperXP.
