Avi_io no compression codecs?

Hi,, I have a problem. I have a Pinnacle Pctv Rave card.
I got Avi_io working quite well in Windows Xp. I could use Picvideo codecs without no problem. But the watching tv on the computer did not work well.

So I installed both Win98 and Win2000. But now I can not chose any codecs in avi_io, only uncompressed frames. But in Virtual dub the codecs works. I have installed all the latest drivers but nothing helps. Somehow I can no longer chose other codecs in Avi_io.

So I really hope that someone of you guys can help me. I would really like to use Avi_io to capture and not Virtual dub.

you can try to reinstall the codecs in both win2k and win98 and reinstall avi_io. by reinstall, i mean uninstall completely and then install again, don't just install on top of the current installation. i had a similar problem with flask before, and the only way i found to solve the problem was to restart the program, but i'm guessing that's not working for you.

if your OS installs are fresh and you can afford to reinstall, then as a last-ditch effort, you can reinstall the OS.

k,, I´ll try that, it´s not that hard installing win2000.

any other sugestions? any other people here with the Pinnacle Rave card that are using win2000 and avi_io? What drivers do you use?

I´m still having problem,,,, I have tried all weekend fixing the problem but I failed,,

I did a fresh install of winXp,, then I could chose codecs in avi_io.

Then I did a fresh install of win2k, and could not chose codecs in avi_io.

What´s wrong? I´m using the same drivers for the Pinnacle card in win2k and winXp but the codecs will only show up when I´m using WinXp. The codecs work fine in virtual dub, both in win2k and winXp.

Is there any special Wdm? or Wdf driver I need?
I´m really lost now,,
