  1. Ok,
I will post exactly what I do:
    Open up DVDShrink.
    Click on Open Disk

Once the DVD is read, let's say Jurassic Park DTS, I should see the video information and audio information.

I then choose Re-Author and click ONLY the DTS 6-channel audio stream and the video stream with NO COMPRESSION.

From there I can choose the start-end points and then backup.
This will make a VOB file.

    Next, I use DVD-Lab

From the assets menu at the bottom, I right click and IMPORT files.

It will then give me the option to DEMULTIPLEX to streams or Use it directly.

    Right?

I have tried this BOTH ways. Both way have resulted in no audio from my burned DVD or the image that DVD Lab makes.

If I demux, it will create the 2 files:
    VTS_12_1.mpv
    VTS_12_1_1.dts
    (for example)

I then make my project and burn it....end result:

NO AUDIO with DTS files....however, if I use WinDVD to play the DVDShrink VOBs, the audio IS there. Again, these are the DVDSHRINK VOBs, so DVD Lab must have a problem with the DTS track.

I need it burned though on a DVD.

    Again, please help.

Someone else tried it too and had the same result:
Ok, I've tried joining two different clips from the movie "Galaxy Quest".

    1) I used DVD Shrink "Start/End" feature to create them, and selected DTS as the only audio stream.

When played in WinDVD, the DTS stream was audible, both in "DVD from folder" and "Open file" mode.

    2) I used DVD-Lab to import (without demuxing) and join the two clips.

I received no error message of any kind.

    3) I compiled the project as DVD.

The DTS stream is being played automatically when opening the VOB file in WinDVD, but not when opening the IFO or using "DVD from folder".
The "Audio" option in WinDVD is greyed out, and the DTS stream cannot be selected. No sound.

I haven't burned this test to DVD to see if I could use my set-top player remote control to select the DTS stream, but I doubt it would work either.

Whether the IFOs created by DVD Shrink are at fault is hard to tell, as everything seem to point out to DVD-Lab IFOs as the cause of the problem.
I have used its "IFO Editor - Audio" feature and it didn't solve it.

Another thing I noticed though, which might not have any connection with the lack of audio, is that DVD-Lab identifies the DTS stream from the first clip as "3:2 Pulldown [DTS]", and the second simply as "Pulldown [DTS].

Sorry Gruson, I'm affraid you will have to wait for an IFO expert to help you, as I'm not.

    Any ideas guys?

    DVD-lab do not support DTS.

  3. Even if DVD-Lab does not support DTS directly, if you use the VOB files without demuxing them, shouldn't that at least work?

If your not getting DTS audio, I'd think that the ripping process might be at fault, yes?

  4. Yes, both posters are right: DVDLab does not support DTS, so demuxing won't work. But it *will* support it in the audio stream of a VOB -- so don't demux in DVDLab and you should be just fine (this is an option as you select your VOB).

Something you might want to think about, too is maybe the DTS track is a different audio track when playing on your standalone DVD player. Select track 2 (usually track 1 is Dolby Digital). Although I don't use DVDLab, I do use DVD Shrink 2.2 to RIP/produce backup of (full) movies. On some movies, the DTS 5.1 channel is track 2 or 3, and sometimes isn't remapped to track one. Biker Boyz was like that for me. I think Biker Boyz (I am at work, so, I am not 100% sure) has DD 5.1 for track 1, French DD 5.1 for track 2, DTS track 3, and like commentary track 4. When I use DVD Shrink, I only select 1 audio track, and, when it's DTS, I only select that track. So, when I watch, I have to hit my audio button on the remote until it says track 3, DTS 5.1.

    Hope my suggestion helps.

  6. I will try selecting "track 2 or 3" when I get home later tonight.

    Thank you for the feedback.

  7. Selecting a different track did not work.

If anyone can please try what I did and have it work, let me know.
