    What kind of cd's do i burn onto and where can i get them, i thought you could use date cd-r's, i think im wrong though, let me know someone

    Yes, ordinary data cd-r is what you use to make a vcd or svcd.

    I use any brand, have no problems so far but I like to use the 80min. 700MB or even the newer 99min. 850MB(providing your burner will burn upto 99min.)
    I have 2 different HP burners and both will burn the 99min. CD-R's from COMPUSA.
    But Some Good brands are Sony, Yamaha, TDK, Memorix, Pioneer.
