  1. I have a Sony NSP325 set-top DVD player. I have some DVDs that will show the DVD title on the LCD screen of the player. Also the same title will show onscreen when I press the title button on the remote.

Does anyone know how to make my homemade DVD's show this field.
I am using Preimere in edit/mpeg and Maestro to author my DVD's, RecordNow to burn on Sony DRU500.

I know this is really trivial but I was curious how they are authoring this feature.

    Thanks

  2. It's called DVD-Text. Search for it if I don't provide enough info.

Maestro can do it. Right Click on the Project and choose properties. There is a check box labled something like 'Embed Project Text Data'. Check it. The volume title will be the project title (.dvd file name). The Title names will be the movie names. They also put some other info there. Look at the video_ts.ifo file in IfoEdit if you are interested.

    Edit:

I'm not sure what your player shows. I'd guess the volume name, but it might also show the movie name. Here is a document that talks about all of the options: http://www.dvdforum.org/VideoTextDataUsage.pdf

By the way, the dvd player in IFOEdit will show the name and give you details. Might be interesting to test a commercial DVD to see what is showing on your sony.
