  2. MPEG-4 is not supported by most standalone DVD players. Only about 10 DVD players will read MPEG-4, and are fairly expensive. So, you want to watch the movie on you standalone DVD player, you must convert it to either VCD (MPEG-1) or SVCD(MPEG-2) first. TMPGEnc is a very good program for doing this, it is very user friendly, and is a very high quality encoder.

  4. I believe you just have to burn it as a data disc.

    Hi Luckyz,
Im just starting to transfer DIVX (MPEG 4) onto VCD and i find Nero very easy, all you do is select the make a vcd option, drag your mpeg4 file into the play list then burn as normal. Nero will encode the video to mpeg1 then burn it for you,

Like the other suggestion though MMPGenc is alot better - this program wil encode it to mpeg1 then use nero to burn, the quality is a little better than just using nero.

    Hope this helps

  7. You burn it as a data disk usually with a .avi, .divx or .mov extention. You'd have to check with the player to see which it supports, usually .avi
