  1. Does anyone know if there is a program that can edit only the sound of say a mpg or avi file without having to re-encode the whole file? Is that even possible? I have found programs that can extract just the sound from a video but i am still in search of one that can import sound back in. any suggestions? -dan

  2. You can use TMPGenc Mpeg tools. Just go to the re-mux tab, put in the video and audio files and it combines them.

Yes, more specifically, open TMPGEnc, click File>Mpeg Tools, click on the Simple Demultiplex tab. Input your mpeg file, click RUN. This will split your file into seperate audio and video files. Open your audio file in Goldwave (free demo), edit and save as wav file. Go back to TMPGEnc and on the main page, click ES (video only). Enter your wav file in the Audio input box. Click the START button and let it process for a few. Again click File>Mpeg Tools and click the Simple Multiplex tab. Enter your original video file and the sound file that you just made and click RUN. That is all.
