I can't seem to select the HUFFYUV codec in VirtualDub with this card. Is it not possible to use this codec with the 8200?

    Thanks,
    Rick

  2. Under format you need to choose 24bit (or YUY2) or another full captuer format.

  3. stop capturing with that codec . ( to much disk space )

try Ulead Video Studio 5.0 ,

put this DLL "VfwMpgPl.dll" ( find it in Ulead VS 4.0 )

your video card have this CD, i have the same Geforce.

    Select 24Bit (704x480)
in MPEG Settings : select 8000Kbits
    in Advanced Select : ( I frames only ) , Square Sample
    29.97 fps MPEG-1 , Perfomance 15 .

Star Capturing . The image is so clear and perfect that you wont believe the quality .

then you can recompress this videos with Tmpegenc to VCD or SVCD or what ever you want to a lower bitrate .

    Good Luck.

If you have dudes , contact me in ICQ- 4065442

Remember that this Geforce don't have hardware compression , i have a pentium 4 1.7GHz maybe that's helping me to prevent of droping frames , if this is happening , try 640x480 .

Not to ask a dumb question, but did you install the Huffy Codec (right-clicking on the INF file, select Install)?

  5. if you installed the codec properly, then you should be able to select it. all cards with a video in should allow you to select the huffYUV codec.

you can check your installation by seeing if the codec is available in other programs such as flask or v-dub.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I had company all weekend and didn't get a chance to respond back till now. When I select "Format" under the video in VirtualDub I only get the ASUS capture settings box to select from. Yes I did install the HUFFY codec. I have Ulead Video Studio and will try LordVaders suggestion.

    Thanks again guys.
