  1. I've been trying but I can seem to really fix why I can't get any audio when using Virtualdub (even the latest one) to capture programs.
I read the "official" faq on the virtualdub site...

"First, check that you aren't missing the pass-through. Most video capture cards don't have on-board sound capture and instead use your sound card, so if you don't connect the cable from the capture board to the sound input, you won't get any sound."

The funny thing is when I switch from tv-tuner to composite...i hear sound but no video...

It mentions something about missing a pass through - what exactly is it? is it hardware or software related?

  2. Its a little cable going from the capture card to your sound card (probably line in).

This zip file has a pci doc about setup. It has a picture of the cables. It also has a faq doc. Question #2 pertains to No Sound problems.

    Give it a try.

    Edit: Fixed the url

  3. Thanks for the reply....but nope, that didn't help much coz i've reviewed the wire/line connections (externally) from the manual, also the volume settings and everything seems to be in place. Unless of course, it's some internal connectivity settings...which i'm not inclined to do so as yet coz the tv-tuner's sofware still works...

As I mentioned though, using Virtualdub....when I switch to Composite...i can hear the audio (faintly) but no video...hmmm..anything out of synch here?

    Cheers!

  4. Oh... I get it now. The sw that came with the card works. VDub does not.

I mentioned those items because I have an Aver card and this is the top problem people seem to have on setup.

Have you tried other programs such as virtualVCR or the simple amcap program to test?

    It might be your drivers.

Do you have anything connected to the composite input? I take it you only have cable connected.
