  1. Hey...

If this is a silly question don't laugh as newbie to this... but is there anyway you can capture sound from an MPG... I have asked a few people and I got a mixture of things from looks as though they got confused when I mentioned MPG, and the others said "don't know try using a mic"...

The reason I ask is there is some music vids I got and want to be able to play the sound, but of course putting them in the stero is thje use of putting chocolate to guard a fire... so I want to get the music (sound) from them...

    Anyone got any ideas...

    Thanks

  2. no problem. just open up the MPG in Virtual Dub and "save WAV". after that you can use almost any progy to compress in whatever format.

  4. There are lot of ways to do this, the easiest:

    1) Use TMPGenc (or other program) to demux the MPG. This will create a seperate video only and audio only file from the source MPEG. The audio will be MP2, or MPEG1 layer 2. You can just play/edit this or convert it to a wav or MP3 if you so desire.

    2) Use VDub

    3) Use Total Recorder (last resort, as it records in real time)

All programs can be found if your click to the left on 'Tools.'
