After dl a DIVX file I find that when I encode it to mpg the resolution appears to suffer. Can anyone recommend an encoding program to use or a procedure to follow to try and recreate the quality of a divx move via VCD. I have tried an SVCD and my machine cannot play it. I currently use TMPGEnc at the moment.
Any ideas greatly appreciated![]()

why not try the header trick with the svcd. if not you may go with xvcd, but that may not work in your player.

remember with each conversion quality will suffer. especially going dvd -> divx --> vcd. granted it can look good still ,but not as good as original
