SVCD ---> VCD ---> DVD

Hi! Got a MPEG 2 file but having probs tmpgenc reconise dvd2avi. Also when i try to join the two SVCD files i have, i lose the sound on the second one. So, now need to do this conversion of SVCD ---> VCD ---> DVD. Have tried most guides and am stuck basically. Just need to change the mpeg 2 to a mpeg 1 the easiest way and then i can carry on. Help please!

even when i try to load the mpeg 2 file in tmpenc to create a DVD it say my mpeg2 file is unsupported yet it is the full version!

maybe you can use virtualdubmpeg2 to see if your files doesn't have any problems.

tried it and it appears fine, so why it still having probs, having no idea!

you could just leave it and burn the dvd as svcd-dvd.

Hi daniel,
Was having the same problem as you but solved it with a work around, don't ask me why it worked cause I have no idea lol but I managed to import it into TMPGenc and output it so I was happy.
What I did was follow this guide here:

Up to a point, where it says to select "Extract but filter only M2F2 Mpg frames", instead I selected extract RAW data AND named it filenam.AVI not .mpg (again why it worked I dont know :P ), after that is finished extracting it imports into TMPGenc fine like I said.
