Occasionally, in DVD-Lab, when I try to compile a DVD, a message appears that says cannot packetize audio stream. I have used DVD Shrink to backup half of a DVD to each of two DVD+R discs. I used exactly the same method for the two rips and yet one of them will burn to a DVD while the other gives me this mysterious message.

I let DVD-Lab demux the .VOB and it shows the .ac3 file as being OK in the Status column. Still, when attempting to compile it I get this message. What does it mean and what am I doing wrong. I'm using version 1.2 of DVD-Lab but have tried it in version 1.1, as well. Thanks for any advice you can give.

  2. You're probably out of luck, although you can try the DVDLab forum to see if anyone has any ideas.

DVDShrink does have some problems producing "standard" VOB files, particularly when it's actually shrinking (doing it without compression causes less difficulties) -- even the author of DVDShrink knows this. It usually isn't a problem unless you go and try to use the VOBs for other purposes, such as you're doing here. Couple this with the fact that DVDLab doesn't like VOBs that are anything *but* standard vanilla (it doesn't handle them from standalone recorders very well, if that gives you a clue) and you end up SOL.

Your best bet is to try and rip those files to your hard drive using Decrypter and let DVDLab play with them (since we know these aren't illegal copies you can just use your originals). You still may end up with problems, but it should go a lot smoother (I was able to use this method to create some custom episode disks very well).

  3. The current release is 1.2.2b. Did you give this version a try?

  4. Version 1.2.2b BETA download dvdlabup122b.exe (2.1 MB) - you need to have installed at least full 1.1 version.
    - Many fixes in the compile dll, no new features. If you experienced problems with 1.2.1 (while 1.1 worked fine) please test 1.2.2 if this fixed the problems.
    - fix for ES audio compile problem (1.2.2)
