Hi, I've got an MPEG2 video clip that I want to play on my DVD player, but for some reason the video has been encoded 4-pas VBR (max 2530kbps). Although the clip plays fine on my pc using an MPEG2 player, as soon is I burn it to cd and put it in my dvd player all hell breaks loose. I think the problem is that my dvd player doesn't like anything above the standard max of 2520kbps... Is there any way I can sort this problem out.
Cheers,
Craig.

look here: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers
see if your player supports xSVCD and at what max bitrate...
otherwise, you may need to re-encode the clip at standard bitrate -
I already checked, my dvd player doesn't support xsvcds. How do I re-encode the mpeg to standard bitrate? Thanks.

https://www.videohelp.com/mpeg2tovcd.htm
that guide gives alot of possibilities to do what you want to do... some may be easier, but can cause more problems...(i.e. directly loading the MPEG-2 file into tmpgenc w/o frameserving through dvd2avi)
