  1. Hi, I've got an MPEG2 video clip that I want to play on my DVD player, but for some reason the video has been encoded 4-pas VBR (max 2530kbps). Although the clip plays fine on my pc using an MPEG2 player, as soon is I burn it to cd and put it in my dvd player all hell breaks loose. I think the problem is that my dvd player doesn't like anything above the standard max of 2520kbps... Is there any way I can sort this problem out.
    Cheers,
    Craig.

  2. look here: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

see if your player supports xSVCD and at what max bitrate...

otherwise, you may need to re-encode the clip at standard bitrate

  3. I already checked, my dvd player doesn't support xsvcds. How do I re-encode the mpeg to standard bitrate? Thanks.

that guide gives alot of possibilities to do what you want to do... some may be easier, but can cause more problems...(i.e. directly loading the MPEG-2 file into tmpgenc w/o frameserving through dvd2avi)
