  1. can anyone suggest a reason why my new drive is not recognized within nero...just got a brand new pioneer ao5 drive, put it in, started up dvdshrink, tried to rip the files and convert them, all done successfully, but when i opened up nero, it doesn't recognize my drive...any reason you folks know as to why this happens?

also tried roxio, and guess what? doesn't recognize the drive either. i'm confused, especially since i burned stuff to a dvd-rw last night and just made a copy of days of thunder using dvd decrypter to rip and burn, and it worked fine.

  2. well....new versions of nero have different registration keys for specific brands...

so if you enter in a HP registration key, nero will only recognize HP drives, and not Pioneers.

  3. As poopyhead said if your version of Nero was "bundled" with another drive(or computer) you bought it won't work.If Nero is retail boxed then go to http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#c1023694368810 and d/l CDROM.CFG and copy it to the Nero Burning Rom folder.

  5. Try downloading a receipt and an official serial number too, while you're at it...

  6. Okay...I got a little ahead of myself there in that last post and wasn't thinking straight...I didn't get Nero from a crack, I only got it from a crackhead (a good friend actually who bought it). Anyways, I have installed the latest ASPI layer and still can't get Nero to recognize my drive, so forget Nero.

I have Roxio Easy CD Creator, and it burned stuff onto my DVD-RW fine, so my new question is to ask if anyone can supply a guide or some instructions on using Roxio to burn (remember, I'm new at this). I plan on using DVD Decrypter and DVD2One, and then Roxio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried searching for a guide on using Roxio to burn, but couldn't find one.

    Thanks,
    Matt
